Intel's "Comeback"?

April 20, 2026

  • Nearly one-third of small businesses expect to increase headcount over the next 12 months, and more than half anticipate wage increases of at least 5%. 1

  • Last week, the S&P 500 reached a new all-time high just 11 trading days after a 5%–10% pullback. According to Bespoke Investment Group, that is the first time in the past 100 years the index has returned to a record high that quickly after a decline in that range. *2

  • The estimated cost to raise a child is now $303,418 over 18 years, up 1.9% from last year, driven largely by higher rent and clothing costs, with rent rising roughly 50% and clothing up more than 25%. 3

  • Intel shares have surged over 220% during the past year as investors price in a turnaround tied to AI and manufacturing improvements, but the stock still trails the S&P 500 by roughly 11 percentage points annually over the past five years. *4
